Ana Cisneros

    Ana Cisneros is a prominent young jazz singer recognized for her versatility on the band stand with her skillful brush work providing a natural swing winning the respect from colleagues and critics alike.

 

This Facet was born from Ana's appreciation for drummers such as Vernel Fournier (Ahmad Jamhal Trio) and later became her main way of expression making her one of the most original singers at the moment in Spain.

   In 2006 she arrived to Barcelona and since then has collaborated with great musicians such as Jorge Rossy (Brad meldhau trio)  Ignasi Terraza, Horacio Fumero,  Perico Sambeat, Phil Wilkinson (Larry Coryell) Dave Mitchell (Jack McDuff), Dimitri Skidanov (Jesse Davis) or Gareth Lockrane.

 

Also leading her own band releasing their first album "Ana Cisneros and Friends" (2007-Edicions SIngular)

Currently Ana is working with her trio with Phil Wilkinson on organ and Carlos Pino on guitar. With this exciting and original trio they performed in different jazz festivals in Spain and Europe, and was selected the year 2011 for the prestigious Andalusian music circuit.

 
Ana studies with musicians like Sheila Jordan (Workshop and Master class 2004) or Aaron Golberg (EE.UU) (Workshop and Master Class in Portugal 2005 (EE.UU), and Magistral Master Class with Roberta Gambarini (2011).

 

Recently she is teaching at two diferent jazz schools in Málaga, and also teached at the prestigious workshop in Alhaurin de la Torre (Spain),and at the Czech Jazz Workshop in 2011, 2012 and 2013 together with musicians as Libor Smoldas, Brian Charette,Steve Grossman, Gregory Hutchinson or Dave Kikoski, Gilad Hekselman ..among others.
